8.1                 Required Finance. – Short term:

No finance is required to get the initial operation under way as all work is to be provided by vollunteers. However this will take time. Ideally finance for the following will speed up the initial process:

1.        Replace 1.2 km of line.

2.        Restore open type coaches to running order – 10

3.        Transport of locomotives from Midmar to Ixopo.

 4.    Replace the line from Ncalu to Madonella some 10 km of  railway line. This line is available from the contractors uplifting the line from Esperanza to Donnybrook. Finance is required by Spoornet to replace this line.

-          Long term:

Replace line from Ncalu to Umzimkulu. Approximately 10 km of line is needed. This line can be purchased from the contractors currently lifting the line from Umzinto to Donnybrook.

Purchase Carisbrooke farm

Fencing and Establishing the Oribi breeding colony

Establish accommodation with a place for people to holiday on the top of Carisbrooke hill.

8.2                 Risks.

Risks are minimal since the whole operation is initally run on a low cost basis. There is no need to run unprofitable tours. Income to cover the running expense of a coach will be guaranteed by the concerns that hire the coaches. Most projects have a huge running expense budget. This one has low running costs involved.
